Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIP) — Insulation System for Flat Roofs & Balconies
XtraVIP Insulation System for Flat Roofs & Balconies is a rigid Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP), consisting of a compressed, fumed, silica sand, microporous core which is evacuated of air and moisture before being encased and sealed in a special thin, gas-tight, hybrid aluminium foil envelope. Encapsulated and protected within a robust two component elastomeric polyurea waterproof coating.
The resulting panel gives outstanding thermal conductivity, with the thinnest possible insulation solution for inverted and conventional flat roofs and balconies.
With a design (aged) thermal conductivity of 0.007 W/mK, the XtraVIP panels provide an insulating performance that is up to five times better than other commonly available insulation materials, meeting the requirements of Building Regulations Part L, Part M and NHBC Chapter 7.1 with minimal thicknesses.
The XtraVIP system can be used in
1. XtraVIP Inverted System (upside down applications) with ballast overlay (Paving, stones, green roofing)
2. XtraVIP PIR for conventional, adhesively fixed, waterproofing systems fixed to Xtratherm FR/MG insulation over the VIP panels.
