XtraVIP Insulation System for Flat Roofs & Balconies is a rigid Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP), consisting of a compressed, fumed, silica sand, microporous core which is evacuated of air and moisture before being
encased and sealed in a special thin, gas-tight, hybrid aluminium foil envelope. Encapsulated and protected within a robust two component elastomeric polyurea waterproof coating.

Specification Manager – Northern Region

Location: Northern Region

Full Time – Permanent

Xtratherm are currently looking to fill a position as a Specification Manager in the Northern region. Responsibility for the creation and management of product specifications focusing on our range of technical products. This will be achieved by developing a network of architects, specifiers and energy assessors that specify the Xtratherm range together with engaging at design stage with our end users.

Key Tasks and Duties:

  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager to establish specification objectives by creating a specification sales plan for your Region.
  • Work with our team of Areas Sales Managers/Business Development Managers to establish specification objectives by creating a specification sales plan for each of their areas.
  • Work with our external team to establish a visible Specification Pipeline.
  • Ensure the ASM/BDM and Specification team work closely together to optimise the Xtratherm Specification Pipeline.
  • Maintain and expand specification customer base by working with ASMs/BDMs; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager to introduce new product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Engage with sales and business development team to secure orders from end users and back sell through stockists to maximize stock leverage
  • Manage call performance mix versus agreed plans Architects, specifiers and end user.


Customer Activity – You will work to support the external sales team specifications through their customer base and develop your own network of Architects to bring specifications to Xtratherm. You will also work with technical departments of large national/regional house builders and contractors to engage at the design stage. Work with Energy assessors that partner with Xtratherm and adopt our products within their calculations.

PSA: Project Sales Achiever– You will take a lead role in the entry of data for architects, specifiers and major projects within the region. Encourage your colleagues to adopt, update and benefit from the system.

Business Relationships and Opportunities – manage relationships with selected national and regional account customers at design team level.

Business Development – maintain an overview of business development opportunities through strong market intelligence. Ensure that Xtratherm remains at the forefront as an innovative Insulation Manufacturer by driving Technical Product sales to meet Company aspirations.
